Friday Find – “Shadow Valley” by The Whiskey Circle – 5/23/14

While The Whiskey Circle‘s self-titled EP has been out for a few months now, I still return to it regularly and give it several spins. It opens with the vibrant “Shadow Valley” – a wicked romp of surfy guitars, quick beats, and singer Leanna May Patterson’s powerhouse vocals. The song is a departure from the band’s more twangy folk-country tunes showcasing their range as musicians.

The Whiskey Circle will further display their eclectic talents this Monday May 26 at Soda Bar– minus bassist Puck Patterson. Leanna May will be joined by another female vocalist for a performance that promises to be a lot of fun. The band will be supporting indie-country rockers Jamestown Revival. Tickets are only $10.

About Jen Van Tieghem

There aren’t many things I love more than music. While life spins away at a rapid beat I’ve realized it’s important to spend it doing what I love – enjoying music in San Diego. I have a handful of favorite venues, a heart full of favorite bands, and decided to write about it.
