Music Matters This Halloween: San Diego’s Spooktacular Sounds

Put together a little Halloween-themed preview for ScoopSanDiego.com featuring shows on and around All Hallow’s Eve. If you have an event to add please shoot me the info and I’ll do my best to add it here and on Scoop!

San Diego is never short on local music events and this coming Halloween and the weeks surrounding it are no exception. Here’s a rundown of the music events happening around town. So whether you’re dressing as a dancing devil or a swaying specter – these are the places to be:

10/26 – The Heavy Guilt and Dead Feather Moon at Winstons

Two terrific bands, two sets each – this one will kick off Halloween week in a big way. The Heavy Guilt bring a unique brand of indie-rock influenced by everything from blues to folk and everything in between. Dead Feather Moon features a classic sound blended with contemporary inspirations. Dressed-up dancers welcome.

10/27 Ghost Dance 2012 at the Ken Club featuring H.A. Perkins, SocialClub, A Scribe Amidst The Lions, and a special guest DJ

This annual dance party features great local music plus eer specials, and $3.50 well shots and $5.00 Fireball shots all night long. There will also be a costume contest so come prepared to show off more than just your skills on the dance floor.

10/28 91X’s Halloween Boo’s Cruise

Featuring music from Churchill, Family Wagon, and Devfits this 2-hour excursion will take place aboard the Inspiration Hornblower. In addition to lively music there will also be drink specials and a costume contest with 91X prizes.

10/31 – Halloween Show with The Creepy Creeps, The Cramp’d, Low Volts, and Stephen & The Sex Trash at The Casbah

The Creepy Creeps were made for Halloween- mask-wearing musicians make the kind of music that possesses you to dance. This stellar lineup is rounded out by seasoned vets from around the San Diego scene. Sure to be an awesome show!
